Questions to Ask Potential Employers

- How many employees do you have?
- Where are your other locations?
- What are the organizations current major challenges?
- Have there been any layoffs? When was the last one? Are more forthcoming?
- May I have a copy of the current organizational chart, employee’s handbook, in-house publications, job description?
- Was this job posted internally? Are you also looking within the organization to fill the position?
- DO you expect your recent rate of income/sales increase/decline to continue this year?
- Do you feel I have the characteristics necessary to be hired and to advance in this organization?
- How firm are the organization’s requirements for the position?
- What do you feel are the most important aspects of this position?
- Who will be interviewing me? Position/title/management style?
- Who will make the final hiring decision?
- How soon do you want an employee in place?
- When will you have to make a hiring decision?
